Wednesday, April 30, 2008—Austin, Texas—The RK Group ~ Catering by Rosemary and The Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum today announced the opening its newest downtown meeting space, which is generating a buzz among meeting planners, businesses, and non profits.  The new space is located inside the beautiful award-winning museum and boasts sweeping views of downtown and the Capitol.  This new space provides an alternative to the traditional hotel and is the answer to businesses seeking a beautiful and affordable upscale venue with free underground parking, which is practically unheard of downtown.

The Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum with its grand stairway, breathtaking Rotunda and 50-foot granite map of Texas is revered as the perfect spot for modern wedding receptions, formal dinners and galas says Director of Sales and Marketing, Toni Gardner with the RK Group.

“This new meeting space definitely adds another dimension to the museum, which truly makes it a downtown gem,” said Gardner “Our main focus working with the museum was to take the hassle out of event planning.  We understand that meeting space is at premium downtown, therefore we have tried to provide the business community with a venue that meets their space requirements while being sensitive to the bottom-line cost.” 

The new third floor space can be reserved daily between 7:30 a.m. to midnight, accommodating 350-400 for seated dinners, 600 plus for a reception or theater seating.  Rental rates are $750 before 5 p.m. and $1,500 evening rate and parking is free.

“This third floor space is definitely a must see ‘it’s a room with a view’,” said Gardner.
